Major Brent Beardsley of the Royal Canadian Army served as a member of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Rwanda BEFORE and DURING the Rwandan Genocide.
American Carl Wilkens refused to leave during the Rwandan Genocide. He was the ONLY American to stay in Rwanda throughout the genocide.
Major Beardsley and Mr. Wilkens were witnesses to the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. They will share their stories of how one person can make a difference.
Educators have been invited to participate in interactive workshops . Projects that promote Peace and Human Rights will be demonstrated.
THE ISSUES OF BULLYING, CITIZENSHIP AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR , CURRENTLY IN THE HEADLINES OF NEWS ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS AMERICA, ARE THE CORE OF THIS WORKSHOP.
