A message from Michael Azeez, Chairman
I started The Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage (The SAM) as a way to save the synagogue where my father and I worshipped. The building is on both the national and state historic registers. While maintaining the sanctuary for future religious services, the idea of a museum surfaced. For a year and a half I worked with a great number of contractors and consultants to restore the Woodbine Brotherhood Synagogue building and create a museum to share the heritage of the town. That dream is now a reality.
My father grew up in Woodbine. An achiever, inventor and entrepreneur, he had a strong desire to share the impact the town had on him. I thought this would be an appropriate tribute to dedicate the museum in his name.
The SAM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization funded completely through private donations. I would appreciate any level of contribution with which you feel comfortable to help support our ongoing efforts.
Thank you for your consideration.
Regards,
Michael Azeez
